Who we are
The agents worked. The people didn't know how to direct them.
Jary Academy was built from that gap — by practitioners who saw it first-hand across dozens of real deployments.
Jary AI was founded to solve a specific problem: most organisations have AI potential they can't access. Not because the tools don't exist — they do. But because the tools only work when the people operating them know how to direct them. Over three years of building AI agent deployments across organisations in Hong Kong, we saw the same pattern repeat: the agents worked. The people didn't know how to direct them. They'd hand over a task and get back an output that was close, but not quite right, and not know how to close that gap. That gap is not an AI problem. It's a direction problem.
We built Jary Academy because training people to direct AI agents is a fundamentally different challenge from deploying AI agents. Deployment is a technical exercise — it has a defined end point. Direction is a continuous skill — it improves with deliberate practice on real tasks. So we designed a curriculum around a simple principle: every participant must leave with a working agent they built, on a platform they keep. Not a certificate that proves they sat in a room. Not a demo environment that disappears after the workshop. A live, operating agent — and the direction skills to improve it over time.
Every module in the Jary Academy curriculum is built from live deployment experience — from real Crews we've deployed at real organisations across finance, property, education, and operations. When a new Crew goes live in a client engagement this quarter, the lessons from that deployment become curriculum material next quarter. Academic-design programmes update annually. Our curriculum improves every time we deploy. That's the structural advantage: the curriculum is a direct read-out of what's actually working in production — not what a course designer thought would be useful two years ago.
The team
Practitioners who deploy agents. Not trainers who teach about them.
Mike
Channel & Commercial Lead
Mike's background is in cybersecurity and AI governance — he holds ISC2 certification and has spent years advising enterprises on responsible AI deployment and security strategy. That background is what makes him credible to the organisations Jary Academy serves: he understands why governance, auditability, and human oversight aren't optional in enterprise AI, and he speaks about it with authority. He leads Jary Academy's channel relationships and commercial strategy, building the distribution network that puts the programme in front of the right school principals and L&D directors.
John Lee
Curriculum & Delivery Lead
John Lee designs and delivers the Jary Academy curriculum, drawing directly on his work building AI agents across Jary AI's Automation Transformation Partnership engagements. When he runs a session on directing agents for financial services or HR workflows, he's teaching from live deployments he built — not from a case study. His standard for a successful session: every participant has a running agent before they leave. Anything short of that is a failed session.
Andrew Cheung
Founder, Jary AI
Andrew Cheung founded Jary AI and built AskJary — the same platform every Jary Academy participant uses. That matters because it means the curriculum isn't designed around a third-party tool that could change its API next quarter. When the curriculum says "build an agent on AskJary," the person who designed that exercise is the same person who designed the platform. The feedback loop between what participants struggle with in the classroom and what gets improved in the product is direct and fast. Jary Academy exists because Andrew saw that distributing the capacity to direct AI agents — not just deploying them — was the durable business.
